This is my method for free licencing of BS Contact. 0) Go to a site with BS Contact licence. Visit a world from there. 1) Go to Your cache of hipertext files: Go to "Temporary Internet Files". 2) Get from there "bscontact[1].bskey" file. Rename this file : bscontact.bskey 3) Keep the address of that site ( for example www.address_of_site_with_licence.com ) and bscontact.bskey 4) Go to Your hoste file. For example in WindowsXp, this file is at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts . And put there a new line : 127.0.0.1 www.address_of_site_with_licence.com 5) Install a http server on Your computer 6) Put in a ROOT of Your Site, bscontact.bskey file, and any ather wrl files of You. 7) Start Your http server 8) Start Your web browser, and put at address, www.address_of_site_with_licence.com, and push Go 9) Explore Your VRML world using BS Contact. See You later folks ! Vive BS Contact 7.2 ! -------------------- Virtual Reality for all

CITATION --- * Interesting tip. Sounds like a lot of work just to get around not seeing the logo however. --- * However, I do think I would rather put up with the logo, or else not use BS Contact at all. Finding ways around a feature that a company charges money for is kind of a gray area ethically. --- * I don't think there is anything gray about this. I am pretty certain if Bitmanagement found you were doing this they would have legal grounds to sue. I believe this is considered hacking a legal ducument that they have sold to another person.... --- * I can see a few downsides to this: 1) You can't visit the website that has the license, as your local server is pretending to be it. 2) Finding a site with a license key, there aren't many, can't really use bitmanagement for example... --- * It's one thing to experiment with something personally. It is when you start sharing a work-around to something that otherwise costs money, that you run into a piracy problem --- --- * Well Yes, is ilegal if You will use my information for make money, because that licence file was sold to another person. But is very legal If You will use these informations just on Your computer. --- * Yes, If You will use this technique, You will cannot visit the real site licenced ... --- -------------------- Virtual Reality for all

How You can use this, on ARSENE's blaxxun server ?
Well, is easy: All what You need is to make a small change on Your BXX file ! And You will have a blaxxun chat with BS Contact and without logo ! What http server You need ? Is not so necesary to use a big sever, a very litle and simple http server is very good ... For example You can use 'ZaZou miniserver' ! He has only 2 files . Is necesary to be online with Your http server ? No is not necesary to have down Your firewall and a special web address. Your litle site is just on Your computer. And he can be inaccesible from out of Your computer. But all Your visitors, must have some conditions like at You: 1) a http server runing on their computer, inaccesible from internet 2) some address of site licenced and his licence file 3) some structure and files of Your world To make BS Contact to work without logo You need: 1) a http server runing on Your PC 2) a address and a licence for this address OBS. except work offline, ofcuorse -------------------- Virtual Reality for all
